We've heard a lot about bias and its impact on decision-making in recent years. But it hasn't been nearly as common to talk about "noise." Yet noise can be just as harmful, as this article demonstrates with examples of judicial sentencing, hiring decisions, and insurance risk assessment. As product people, we have a responsibility to consider how noise may affect our decisions and how to mitigate this.
