Uber Shows How Not to Apply Behavioral Economics
I'm a big fan of the book Nudge and the application of behavioral economics to design. But I agree with Francesca Gino, we have an ethical responsibility to use these tools in the best interest of our customers. In fact, Thaler and Sunstein, the authors of Nudge, make this a requirement to qualify as a nudge. I'm not surprised that Uber continues to ignore this requirement. Don't follow in their footsteps.
